Adenn Nardi - During my time training under and alongside Nick I have been impressed beyond measure. His skill and technique in the art of Wing Chun Kung Fu is truly world class. You will not find another person more dedicated in their pursuit of mastery. His knowledge and understanding of traditional training methods and combat philosophy is something that can only be achieved through rigorous physical training and focused study. If you are interested in learning and developing a deep understanding of the system of Wing Chun Kung Fu I could not recommend Nick highly enough.

Fung Yoke Yeung - I have been fortunate enough to have met and trained with Sifu Nick Wong during his stint as a senior instructor at Mui Wing Chun Wushu Academy since 2016. His dedication and commitment to Wing Chun is second to none. In my opinion, Sifu Nick has a deep understanding of the art and also a strong advocate in the importance of foundations, that is the stance, punches and turns. This is evident as foundation training still take up at least 60% of his training routine even now. I also believe that the results of the foundation training is very visible through his ability to simultaneously execute fast punches, crisp turns and fluid footworks during demonstrations of any Wing Chun technique which would often leave students in awe. Over the years, I had witnessed Sifu Nick’s unyielding obsessiveness in perfecting his craft. Due to this, he had also motivated many like-minded students, including myself, to train harder and to leave no stones unturned in pursuit of the ideals of the art. He has a great eye for detail and very approachable, all of which I believe are qualities of a good teacher. Regardless whether you are a Kung Fu fanatic or just someone who is interested to know what Wing Chun is, I highly recommend you to try Sifu Nick’s class as there is a place for everyone across the spectrum.

B See Toh - I met Nick training at the same Wing Chun school in 2019. I was a beginner and Nick was very senior. During our 1 on 1 drills in class, Nick would take the time to explain and provide feedback. We would then continue to practice so that I could feel the correct technique and structure. Nick is a great communicator and is genuine in sharing his Wing Chun Knowledge.

Darren - I started my martial arts journey in 2009 when I decided it was time to get fit and it was something my son wanted to try out too, so it was something we could do together. I started out one day a week, but as my interest and fitness grew, I began coming more frequently. Whether you have a goal in mind or are just interested to try it out, I definitely recomment training with Sifu Nick and his great team of senior students. Right from the first class, the atmosphere was friednly and fun and everyone was invested in working hard. I was made to feel a part of the family straight away, despire being a beginner with little martial arts experience. All the trainers and fellow students are always generous with their time to answer questions and demonstrate for you and they are always there to help you on your journey. Sifu and the senior students have so much knowledge and experience to share. The dedicated training partners I've trained with have become lifelong friends and have changed my life inside and outside of the classroom. It's a great culture to be a part of and learning journey I would suggest everyone undertake!

Rebecca A. - Having trained alongside Sifu Nick Wong for many years I have been continuously inspired by his passion and incredible skill in Wing Chun. Not only is he impressive in his own talents but he has a natural ability to draw out skills in others and drive them to their full potential. Learning Wing Chun has been a great blessing. As a relatively small female with great passion for martial arts, I had accepted for the longest time I would always be at a disadvantage. I was fortunate enough to discover this style in which it doesn’t matter who you are, anyone can achieve these skills if they put in the time and effort, no matter their or their opponents size.

Dave - There are three key parts to learning any martial art: The art, your teacher and your own input. Wing Chun is simple to learn, but hard to master. It's core concepts of smoothness and relaxation under pressure, while tough to grasp, have benefits that flow into your everyday life. As someone who is perpetually tense by nature, I found this very challenging, but also very rewarding. Having trained with Nick for over a decade, his dedication to the art is second to none. He is both patient and demanding in just the right measure, with a keen eye for details. You need only watch his own training to understand how he developed the skills that he has. At the same time, Nick understands that not everyone has the same amount of time to train, nor the same desired outcomes. Nick's skills in adapting a training schedule to meet your needs means that you can get out what you want to put in, only ever competing against yourself.

Rowan - After training with Nick for several years I can honestly say I've never met a more dangerously capable martial artist. But Nick's mastery extends far beyong the physical aspects of Wing Chun. His approach has been culivated respectfully by those who came before him. Understanding the why is foundational to this approach. His knowledge of the forms, of leveraging force and structure, is something he understands deeply and this understanding is shared passionately with his senior instructors and students. As a student, you are encouraged to ask questions and develop your own understanding as your experience grows. Hand on heart I can say, if this appeals to you philosophically, do yourself a favour and visit Black Lion Wing Chun.

Josh W. - Nick took me on the journey of learning wing chun while in high school and we have trained together for many years since Nick is a down to earth wing chun machine. The hard work Nick has put into perfecting this art is an inspiration and has also made me always wanna train harder. Nick is repectful and patient with all of his students as he knows how challenging wing chun can be when starting out. Dont worry though under Sifu Nicks guidance the progress you will make every session will make you wanna learn more and more!!
